Equal and Opportunity Policy

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to document FFA (Fire and First Aid) LTD is committed to providing equality and opportunity to employment, consultation, services and/or customers attending diverse quality and mandatory training and qualifications.
The aim is ensure that any persons are treated fairly, with honesty, indignity, transparency, equally and it prohibits any discrimination regarding to race, culture, religion, ethic, colour, age, gender, disabilities, personal health conditions, victimisation, and harassment of any type, so to provide a friendly, non-bias, or non-prejudices work and training environment.

Scope

This policy is for FFA (Fire and First Aid) LTD employment and promotion uses only.
FFA (Fire and First Aid) LTD will not unlawfully discriminate in the arrangements made for employment, consultancy, services and training. All decisions will be made fairly and objectively and aims as low as reasonable practicable to ensure avoidance to any particular disadvantage that may be caused and compliance with the Equality Act 2010, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations (amended 2013) and other current UK legislation and Standards.

Forms of discrimination

Directly – Persons treated less favourably because of their capabilities, abilities, race, culture, religion, ethic, colour, age, gender, disabilities, personal health conditions, victimisation, and harassment of any type.

In-directly – When a proriatism, criterion or practice is applied to everyone, but has disproportionately adverse effects to a person capability or ability. (Who is disadvantaged in that way has a right to complain).

Victimisation – Persons treated unfairly because they have raised a complaint or disagreed with any of the employment, consultancy, service and training.

Harassment – Unwanted conduct that relates to an individual’s dignity or creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment.

Discrimination arising from disabilities – Unlawfully treating a person unfavourably because of something that is the result, affect or outcome of their disabilities, unless the treatment is necessary, objectively justified and reasonable adjustment to ensure that the disability are not substandard or disadvantaged.

Recruitment and selection

Recruitment and selection of employment will be free from bias or discrimination, and will be based on individual’s suitability, qualification and experience and compliance with Equality Act 2010, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations (amended 2013) and other current UK legislation.
All recruited will be on a temporary contracted agreement, and will be subjected to the individual’s qualification, knowledge and experience. Personnel development will be aligned to the FFA (Fire and First Aid) LTD policies, procedures and practises other development will be responsible of the individual and not of the FFA (Fire and First Aid) LTD.

Consultancy and Services

FFA (Fire and First Aid) LTD will work in partnership with clients through understanding their needs and respected values, differences and practices to ensure an effective open relationship that promotes equality, diversity and opportunity.

FFA (Fire and First Aid) LTD will ensure Fire Risk Assessment Reports have as low as reasonability practicable decisions made fairly and objectively for avoidance to any particular disadvantage and ensure compliance with the Equality Act 2010, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and other current UK legislation and Standards.

Training practices

FFA (Fire and First Aid) LTD will consider making the appropriate and as low as reasonable practicable adjustment to ensure any venue considered for first aid courses to accommodating persons with disabilities and will not unlawfully cause any discrimination regarding to capabilities, abilities, race, culture, religion, ethic, colour, age, gender, disabilities, personal health conditions.
If will recognise and with appropriate behaviour will challenge discrimination, victimisation, and harassment of any type.
It will report any criminal damage of FFA (Fire and First Aid) LTD or venue property or assault (physical or mental) to the police.
To ensure that all Customers have access to a fair and well managed assessment and examination.

Working environment

FFA (Fire and First Aid) LTD will ensure that equality of opportunity is promote throughout its work policies, procedures and management business and in accordance with its commitment will ensure that positive steps are taken to identify and combat all forms of equality discrimination.

Monitoring and review

FFA (Fire and First Aid) LTD will monitor the effectiveness of this policy through frequent auditing of its documentation, practises, review of customer feedback, training evaluation forms, and complaints received to ensure it achieves the company’s aims, objectives, and continuous improvements.
All audits, complaints, customer feedback and training evaluation forms will be held on file for 3 to 5 years.
