Who should attend:
Newly appointed first aiders within the workplace, and who requires a First Aid at Work certification to comply with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulation.
To provide delegates through a combination of theory illustrated with examples and interactive role play/practical sessions knowledge, skills and confidence of first aid legalisation, the first aider role and responsibilities, knowing your equipment, how to identify first aid conditions with casualty(ies) treatment, when to call emergency services
or transfer casualty(ies) to medical centres, and how to report the first aid incident.

Understanding of the legislation behind first aid at work
Understanding what is first and the main roles of First Aider, including protection against infections
Incident management and mechanism of injury
Consent for treatment
Primary and Secondary surveys
Types of casualties and how to deal with the casualty – includes: responsive; unresponsive and breathing – Airway management, vomiting and recovery position; and unresponsive and non- breathing – CPR
Respiratory System and the conditions that affect this system and treatments
Types of wounds and injuries

Delegates must attend all 3 days for assessment purposes
